Author Guidelines

Submissions to CACHE (Computing Applications and Classroom Heuristic Evaluation) must represent original, unpublished research that is not currently under review by other journals or conferences.

To facilitate the review process, authors must format their manuscripts according to our official template before submitting.

1. General Formatting

  • Document Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Language: Papers must be written in clear and grammatically correct English or Bahasa Indonesia (depending on journal policy).
  • Page Setup: A4 paper size, with margins as specified in the template. Use single or 1.15 line spacing.
  • Length: Articles should typically be between 4,000 to 7,000 words in length, including references, tables, and figures.

2. Manuscript Structure

Research articles should follow the standard IMRAD structure. The manuscript should be compiled in the following order:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflecting the content. Avoid abbreviations.
  • Author Details: Full names, affiliations (Department, Institution, Country), and the corresponding author's email address.
  • Abstract: A concise summary of the research (150-250 words) covering the purpose, method, results, and conclusion. Do not include citations in the abstract.
  • Keywords: 3 to 5 relevant keywords, separated by semicolons (;).
  • 1. Introduction: Background of the study, literature review, gap analysis, and objectives.
  • 2. Method: Research design, participants, data collection, and analysis techniques. Must be detailed enough to allow replication.
  • 3. Results and Discussion: Clear presentation of findings (using tables/figures if necessary) and interpretation of their significance against existing literature.
  • 4. Conclusion: Main findings, implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
  • References: List of all sources cited in the text.

3. Tables and Figures

All tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text (e.g., Table 1, Figure 2). They should be placed close to where they are first mentioned. Titles for tables are placed above the table, while titles for figures are placed below the figure. Ensure all figures are of high resolution (min. 300 dpi) and legible.

4. Citation and Referencing Style

CACHE strictly adheres to the APA (American Psychological Association) Style, 7th Edition. Authors are highly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure consistency and avoid referencing errors. At least 80% of the references should be primary literature (journal articles, proceedings) published within the last 10 years.

5. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items. Submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in this Author Guidelines and has been formatted using the official CACHE template.
