Pengaruh Metode Diskusi Berbantuan Canva terhadap Motivasi Belajar Materi Dampak Sosial Informatika Kelas X TKJ

Abstract

The low level of student engagement in informatics learning requires particular attention, as the nature of the subject Social Impacts of Informatics demands more than merely listening to the teacher’s explanation. This is especially critical given that the intended learning outcomes necessitate the ability to analyze the social, economic, and legal consequences of informatics development. This study aims to determine the influence of the discussion method assisted by the Canva application on students’ learning motivation in the Informatics subject, specifically the Social Impact of Informatics material, for grade X TKJ students at SMKN 1 Bagor. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of students from class X TKJ 1 as the control group (36 students) and class X TKJ 2 as the experimental group (35 students), determined using a saturated sampling technique. Learning motivation data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire based on six indicators of learning motivation according to Hamzah B. Uno (2023) and analyzed using the Independent Samples t-Test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average learning motivation score of the experimental group increased from 65.77 (pretest) to 90.66 (posttest), while the control group increased from 62.58 to 73.78. The Independent Samples t-Test obtained a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.012 (<0.05), so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the discussion method assisted by the Canva application has a significant influence on students’ learning motivation in the Informatics subject for grade X TKJ at SMKN 1 Bagor.
